June 18th is Seattle chapter’s International Surfing Day event. As we obviously don’t have surf in the city, we will be having a stand up paddleboarding race on Lake Union. You can show up in a swimsuit, try out a board, or even join the race on the spot! Urban Surf will be our event host, at 2100 North Northlake Way. The event is free and open to the public; it starts at 5:30PM and goes til 8PM. Kids SUP race is at 6:15, adults SUP race at 7:15, arrive 30 minutes before to register. Check out the Facebook event page to see a few other faces you might recognize that will be there tonight!
There will be local brew, and as always, an excellent raffle (bring small bills to buy raffle tickets). Proceeds benefit the chapter and our Hold On To Your Butts campaign. This event is for everyone, young and old, members and non-members. Come take photos, post them to your instagram with #ISD14 and #myspecialplace and enter to win a national contest. Hope to see you there!
