Seattle Chapter

LOCAL Programs

  • Hold On To Your Butt (HOTYB): HOTYB is a national campaign that many Surfrider chapters have undertaken to reduce cigarette litter on their beaches, and now we hope to make a difference locally. We keep noticing the absurd amounts of cigarette butts we pick up on our beach cleans around Seattle, so we’re trying to do something about it! Come to a chapter meeting or reach out to the committee to get involved; we need people of all skills to help us do effective outreach, fundraising, and planning; contact is
  • Beach Cleanups: Our chapter is involved in local cleanups at parks and beaches in the Seattle area as well as coastal cleanups around Westport, WA. Sign-up for our newsletter to learn about upcoming opportunities or contact us for more information.
  • Ocean Friendly Restaurants: Our goal is to work with the restaurants around the community to transform their business into ocean friendly facilities. Restaurants who want to become “Ocean Friendly” are required to adhere to three mandatory environmental sustainability requirements while choosing other optional items to include to their list.
