The results are in from this year’s Round the Rock event which is the largest SUP event in the Pacific Northwest. Thomas Maximus from CA paddled in to win the 13 mile long event in a record breaking 1:59:40! This event benefits Athletes For Cancer which is a devoted group that provides outdoor recreational opportunities for people living with and surviving cancer. Over 125 people came out to make Alki Beach barefoot friendly!!! Big thanks to Barefoot and all the volunteers for such a fun and successful event! And another big shout out to Vicci Martinez for her performance at the after party! Enjoy the pics below from our amazing photographer Heather Brinco!
This Saturday is the annual Seattle Barefoot Beach Rescue Project at Alki Beach. Come down from 10-12 to lend a hand and pickup some unhealthy and unattractive garbage. Then celebrate clean oceans, waves, and beaches at the Cactus from 12-2 with a performance from Vicki Martinez!!!
Sorry for the late notice but we have been swamped with surf camps, SUP races, and playing in the water. Tonight, Tuesday July 16th at 6:45, we look to rendezvous at Gas Works park for a short meeting and to pick up garbage and get this wonderful area cleanup up! Come on out and have a great evening, the weather is looking solid!
This Sunday is the annual Stroke the Slough SUP Race!!! Last year was a great success and the weather is looking prime for a day on the water. Please come out, do the race, volunteer, or just hang out! All ages are welcome for the post race festivities at Red Hook Brewery and all proceeds benefit the Seattle Surfrider Chapter. This Saturday is the 12th annual Snowrider Project All Mountain Cleanup at the Summit at Snoqualmie. The cleanup will run from 10-2 and the spot to meet and register will be at the Alpental parking lot by the pedestrian bridge. Come out for a good time and remember, keep it clean up stream. In just a few weeks The Snowrider Project will be having it’s 12th annual All Mountain Cleanup at The Summit at Snoqualmie. The skinny is the cleanup will be on Saturday June 29th from 10-2 with people meeting in the main parking lot of Alpental by the pedestrian bridge.
