 May Recap
Thank you to the great crowd we had at our Salmon Stories talk at Dirty Couch Brewing. We learned a ton about the juvenile salmon habitat under the piers in downtown Seattle. We also had so much fun at our May Clean & Cruise at Golden Gardens. We collected 42lbs of trash, so thank you to everyone who joined us that fine Saturday. Looking forward to our June events and summer!

June Clean & Cruise
Come celebrate International Surfing Day with us at our June Clean & Cruise! Join us for a relaxing yoga session (yes you read that right!), a park clean-up, and a social paddle out Saturday June 17th. We are lucky to have Karina from True Adventure Collective leading yoga at the beginning of the event.

We will have our blue Surfrider tent on the grass on the east side of Green Lake. Once you RSVP, you will get a pin to the exact location. For the yoga, please bring your own yoga mat or towel to use on the grass. Our yoga session will start at 11:15am, but we encourage everyone to get there at 11am to set up. The yoga session will be 45min. The clean up portion will start at noon. We will have buckets, trash bags, pickers and gloves for you to use. Around 1:15pm, we encourage you to come back to the tent with your trash so we can weigh it and dispose of it. If you are interested in joining our social paddle, we will plan to launch a little after 130pm onto Green Lake. Bring a paddle board, kayak, canoe, surf board, or anything you want for the social paddle!

Children and dogs are welcome all day! Even if you can only make 1 or 2 of the events, please RSVP. We hope to see you there!

Shellibrating Ocean Science
w/ Sea-Bird Scientific
Next Tuesday, June 20th, we will be hosting guest speakers from Sea-Bird Scientific, so please welcome them by joining us at Surf Ballard that evening starting at 6:30pm. Sea-Bird Scientific will talk about the awesome ocean research and science they do locally in Puget Sound. You won't want to miss this opportunity to ask some real nerdy, scientific questions! Children and dogs are welcome. Please RSVP!

Open Volunteer Position
We are looking for leaders in our community who are dedicated to protecting our ocean, beaches, and waves and who want to get more involved with the Seattle Surfrider Chapter! We have a an open volunteer position that we would love to fill as soon as possible. Currently, the open volunteer position is Vice Chair.
