Earth Day 2016 is FRIDAY, April 22, and we'll be setting up shop at Golden Gardens in Ballard! Come on out between 2-4pm,and look out for the blue Surfrider flag. We'll have garbage bags, gloves and snacks for you! Last year it was a gorgeous day, and we had volunteers of all ages, families, co-workers, and community groups working together to remove piles of garbage from our beaches.
And hey, it's Friday, what better way to start a fine spring weekend than cleaning our beautiful beach, and then sticking around and enjoying the benefits of digging your toes in the trash-free sand!
While completing her master's degree in Sustainable Development & Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland, Liz taught sustainability to undergraduate students while also volunteering as a docent at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum’s Ocean Hall. As Surfrider's Washington and Alaska Regional Manager, she supports the organization's five Washington chapters, three BC chapters, and Kenai Peninsula Chapter in their amazing work.
